Mitry Lawyers was founded in 2009 by Rick Mitry and Richard Mitry in Macquarie Street, Sydney.

From the outset, our aim has been to focus on the needs of our clients, providing personal service, and practical solutions to legal problems. That is, we seek to ensure your needs are addressed on a business or personal level in addressing your legal issues.

Our lawyers provide litigation, transactional and advisory services in a number of practice areas, including commercial law, defamation/media and entertainment law, and criminal law.

Rick Mitry Rick Mitry is a lawyer who specialises in commercial litigation and advisory services, international law, criminal law and insolvency. Rick was a founder of Mitry Lawyers in 2009.Rick has practised as a barrister and as a solicitor, and has been involved in several high profile cases in a variety of fields. He has also acted in several public inquiries, and matters involving issues of international law and diplomacy. Rick also advises corporate and individual clients in relation to matters of corporate and personal insolvency, and general commercial litigation.In the criminal law field, Rick has represented clients in a range of indictable matters, including murder trials, major drug offences, and assault matters, as well as summary offences. Rick has published several legal and business articles, including "Business Law of the Middle East" and "The Law of Diplomacy and the Rules of Protocol". Lauren MacDougall

Lauren MacDougall is a lawyer who specialises in criminal law, family law and general commercial litigation matters.For a number of years, Lauren MacDougall has assisted clients in a range of criminal law matters, including several high profile cases.With experience in criminal law matters involving assault allegations, AVO matters, drink driving and other driving offences, assault, affray, a variety of drug offences (from minor possession offences to serious offences involving supply of commercial quantity) and murder charges, Lauren is well equipped to assist clients in a variety of areas. Richard Mitry is a lawyer who practises in the fields of commercial litigation and advisory mortgage and banking law, insolvency, and media law. Richard has worked at top-tier and boutique firms in Australia and in the United Arab Emirates, and has been involved in several start-up businesses. Richard was also one of the co-founders of Mitry Lawyers in 2009.Richard has experience in advising corporate and individual clients in litigation and insolvency matters in Supreme, District and Local Court jurisdictions, as well as in the Federal Courts. Michael Lee

Michael Lee is a law graduate at Mitry Lawyers and has experience in assisting our solicitors in a variety of matters in the fields of civil litigation, criminal law and international law.

Michael has worked for the judiciary and Department of Justice in Hong Kong S.A.R. where he contributed to the publication of discussion papers on family law and criminal law. He has also interned in a top-tier firm in Shanghai, China.

Michael speaks several languages, including Cantonese, Mandarin, French, Greek, Spanish, and Italian.

HOW WE CHARGE Office-meeting

flexible pricing - certainty, simplicity, comfort...

Mitry Lawyers provide comfort to our clients with a range of pricing methods. Where appropriate, we will tailor pricing of our professional fees to your specific needs.

Event Billing

In order to provide budget certainty in litigation matters, where appropriate we will be able to provide fixed prices for our professional fees for each stage of proceedings.

Retainers

In some litigation and transactional matters, we can offer a pricing system which involves fixed monthly charges to comprise a global retainer. The amount of a retainer will be agreed upon to represent what we calculate as our average professional fees over a month. Again, this will provide you with comfort and certainty.

Fixed pricing

Some matters can be charged with a one-off lump sum. Where appropriate, we will discuss this option with you as a means of giving you complete certainty.

Hourly Billing

In some matters, the most appropriate method of billing is on the basis of an hourly rate. Our rates are highly competitive and represent the experience and expertise of our staff.
