Richard Mitry is a partner of Mitry Lawyers, and was one of the founders of the firm in 2009. Prior to this, he worked with top-tier firms in Sydney and Dubai. 

Richard graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours, together with a Bachelor of Economics and Social Sciences.

Richard is a go-to lawyer for leading individuals in business, politics and entertainment. He also advises and acts in commercial and dispute matters, where his clients include leading ASX-listed and private companies in the property, finance, childcare, aged care, and large-scale hospitality industries, together with family offices and high net worth individuals.

With extensive experience in acting in high profile matters, he understands the need for a careful combination of strategic thinking, care, and discretion.

Richard is an accredited mediator (NMAS) conducting mediations in commercial disputes.

He has an academic appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Law at OP Jindal Global University in India, lecturing in alternative dispute resolution and media law.

He also lectured in the Masters of Law programme at College of Law NSW and regularly contributes to education, providing lectures to the community and other lawyers.

Richard sits on the board of the Australian arm of an International Non Governmental Organisation accredited with the United Nations (associated with the UN DPI).

​He is also an owner of a business outside of the law called The Truth Equation focused on educating members of the public in health, relationships, finance and career advancement, providing regular workshops and programmes in these fields.

Richard also appears regularly on Australian television news and  current affairs programs discussing current legal issues, including appearing as the commentator in a weekly morning segment on the Nine network called "Lawyer Up".
