Richard Mitry | Partner
Richard Mitry is a partner of Mitry Lawyers, and was one of the founders of the firm in 2009. Prior to that, he worked at top-tier and boutique firms in Australia and in the United Arab Emirates (including a major international firm in Australia and Dubai).
Richard graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours.
Richard's main areas of practise are commercial litigation and dispute resolution, property law and defamation and media law.
Richard is an accredited mediator (NMAS) conducting mediations in commercial disputes.
He has an academic appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Law at OP Jindal Global University.
He also lectures in the Masters of Law at College of Law NSW and regularly contributes to education, providing lectures to the community and other lawyers.
Richard advises and acts for substantial corporations, national non-governmental organisations, and prominent and high-profile individuals in litigation and advisory matters. He also operates a pro bono practice.
He also appears regularly on Australian morning television news and evening current affairs programs discussing current legal issues, including appearing as the commentator in a weekly morning segment on the Nine network called "Lawyer Up".
